Something about me that you might find surprising: I love crows. They are very cool birds with admirable intellect, and I think they carry themselves extremely well.
But while I think the birds are pretty bad ass, I don’t share the feeling for their wrinkle namesake – crows’ feet – which have started landing their way onto my (just) over 30 face. I lamented this unwelcome side effect of ageing in my post here. And resolved to do something about it, trying out eye creams to welcome me to the world of more ‘mature’ skincare.
First up to the (slightly creased) plate, Benefit It’s Potent Eye Cream. From the three samples I had in my stash, I chose this first due to the pretty packaging. Especially nice since it’s only a sample – a proper mini of the full size product, in a vintage inspired green glass jar. Awwwww.
Boasting a whole host of beauty benefits, this little pot promises to fade dark circles and firm skin. It contains a peptide complex to help restore elasticity & firmness, as well as botanical extracts to hydrate and help protect the skin from free radical damage.
The cream itself isn’t too heavy or greasy at all (like some eye creams can be). The lighter texture means it’s great for a younger skin looking to stay that way. I’d say it’s almost a gel-creme texture and is very easily absorbed. Very pleasant to use.
And the results? Well, good, I have to say! There are still lines there, but I don’t notice them as much at all. My complexion also looks more radiant and less tired around the eyes. I think the fact that I was previously doing nothing, and am now doing something, is in part to thank, but this was definitely a good something to start with.
It’s probably not the right product for those with lines firmly in place, but I’d definitley recommend it if your eye area just needs a little wake up call. It’s surprising, as I didn’t expect to like Benefit skincare at all. If, like me, you’re sceptical, you can try the super cute trial size that I have for just £5 here.
Have you tried any of Benefit’s skincare? I’d love to know if the rest is as impressive!
